Sheryl Lee Ralph wishes she knew more about self-love in her teenage years.

On Tuesday (Jan. 10), while giving a red carpet interview at the Golden Globes Awards, actress Sheryl Lee Ralph was asked to give her 15-year-old self advice. Seemingly ecstatic to give an answer, Sheryl Lee Ralph shared:

“There’s nothing wrong with your nose. There’s nothing wrong with the shade of your skin.”

The 66-year-old continued:

“There’s nothing wrong with the way your hair grows out of your head. And there is certainly nothing wrong with your lips because there will be some people called [the] Kardashians and they will pay 10 thousand dollars for your lips.”

She added:

“Hang in there 15-year-old Sheryl Lee Ralph! You’re good!”

Ralph’s self-confidence seemingly stems from the competitive industry she works in. As previously reported, the “Sister Act 2” actress recently shared she was disappointed after being excluded from the 2006 remake of “Dreamgirls.” If you didn’t know, Ralph played Deena in the 1981 Broadway premiere of “Dreamgirls: Original Broadway musical,” which also included Jennifer Holliday as Effie White and Loretta Devine as Lorell Robinson. She said:

“It hurt my feelings because we literally created ‘Dreamgirls.’ Nobody else created that. Tom Eyen handpicked us, put us altogether, we improvised and put those moments together that became that groundbreaking musical.”

She continued:

“And when they chose to go to Hollywood [and] make the movie, to act like we weren’t a part. There were so many things they could have done, that they could have added us … but the choice was made not to. … I’m just like, it’s OK, because we’re moving forward. Who knows, maybe somebody will leave us in their will and make it right.”
