Virginia High School Basketball Coach Fired After Impersonating 13-Year-Old In JV Game
A high school girls basketball assistant coach in Virginia has been fired after displaying her abilities in an unfavorable manner.
Arlisha Boykins, 22, was sacked as the junior varsity girls basketball coach at Churchland High after being accused of impersonating a player during a game that took place earlier this month.
Churchland reportedly defeated Nansemond River 47-45 in a victory that is now recorded as a forfeit loss.
Arlisha Boykins is purportedly seen on video suiting up in a Black No. 1 jersey belonging to a 13-year-old player who was away for a tournament at the time of the questionable game. She appeared to complete layups, block shots, and shoot free throws during the sequence.

The impersonated girl’s father said she will no longer be a student at Churchland High.
According to the father,
“Coaches always preach to the kids about integrity and those types of things, so I was just shocked.”
He added,
“I just need an apology, you know, because I haven’t yet received one from the overseer of the program.”
Arlisha Boykins and the JV head coach are no longer employed by the school system, Portsmouth Public Schools shared in a statement.
“Churchland’s administration immediately investigated and then reached out to the Virginia High School League to report the investigation’s findings. In addition, Churchland’s administration held a parent and player meeting with both the junior varsity and varsity teams. In the meeting, the players from both teams expressed they did not want to continue this season. The teams’ remaining opponents and officials have been notified.”
