‘What You Won’t Do For Love’ Singer Bobby Caldwell Has Passed Away At 71 [CONDOLENCES]
Singer Bobby Caldwell passed away in his sleep Tuesday night (Mar. 14) in his New Jersey residence. The 71-year-old was reportedly battling an illness for several years.

On Wednesday (Mar. 15) Mary Caldwell, Bobby’s wife of 19 years, took to his Twitter to announce his death to his fans. She wrote:
“Bobby passed away here at home. I held him tight in my arms as he left us. I am forever heartbroken. Thanks to all of you for your many prayers over the years. He had been “FLOXED,” it took his health over the last 6 years and 2 months. Rest with God, my Love. -Mary Caldwell”

Caldwell is known for his signature 1978 hit “What You Won’t Do For Love,” which reportedly landed No. 10 on the Billboard charts, helping his self-titled debut album go double platinum. According to reports, the track has been auditioned by contestants on almost every season of “American Idol” and “The Voice.” Artists such as Boyz II Men, Snoh Aalegra, Michael Bolton and Tupac Shakur sampled or covered the song as well.
