Cheslie Kryst, A Former USA & Correspondent, Has Died At 30 [Condolences]
Very sad news. Cheslie Kryst, an Extra correspondent and former Miss USA, has died at the age of 30. According to the New York Post, it was a death by suicide. She is said to have leaped to her death from her Midtown high-rise Sunday.
Shortly before her passing she posted on her Instagram page,
“May this day bring you rest and peace.”
Her family said in a statement:
“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”
Sources say the 2019 pageant winner and 30-year-old lawyer reportedly left behind a note saying she wanted to leave everything to her mother.
We send our condolences to her family & friends. If you or someone you know is suicidal or in emotional distress, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or go to SuicidePreventionLifeline.org.
