Before he shares the store Shawn Stockman says,
“Let me start this soundbite off by saying, we’ve loved Mike, we always love Mike, he is our brother for life, he is always frat. Okay? Let’s get that out of the way.”

He continues,
“Mike never really enjoyed being a singer, and what I mean by that is he did it because he could, it was an opportunity but it was never really in his heart of hearts to really do it like the rest of us wanted to do it.”
Stockman went on to explain that in addition to dealing with McCary’s attitude toward singing, the group often had to accommodate Mike McCary due to him being diagnosed with scoliosis, which is an irregular curving of the spine. Stockman said,
“There were times where we had to work it out with Mike where while we’re doing the dance steps and he’s sitting on the stool.”
He added,
“We’ve done all types of things to accommodate but then he started to not show up to shows, he started to not answer our phone calls and things of that nature, and so it came to a head.”
The Philly singer went on to say that he hadn’t heard from his groupmate for weeks until they were preparing to head to Japan for a major performance when McCary showed up asking, ‘when are we leaving?’ although he had been M.I.A for weeks prior. Stockman said after he told him he wasn’t going, things became physical to which McCary slammed him on a table. Shawn said,
“After weeks of not being seen, he was like, ‘So when are we going to Japan?’ I told him straight out, we ain’t going nowhere. We are not going to Japan.”
He continued:
“Again I love Mike but I had it. It was like dude you can’t keep doing this to us. So to make a long story short, we got into it [and] we fight.”
The R&B group Boyz II Men formed in 1987 and are best known for their ballads like End of the Road and It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye.
Mike McCary left the group in 2003 and the group continued on as a trio with original members, Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris, and Nathan Morris.
