YG Admits He Didn’t Believe Tupac Shakur Was Dead Until He Spoke w/ The Late Rapper’s Mother: ‘That Sh*t F*cked Me Up’
For decades, the conspiracies surrounding iconic rhymer Tupac Shakur’s sudden death have lived in the crevices of the untold history of music.
Recently, fellow rapper YG revealed that he’d fallen victim to the industry’s longtime rumor mill, and it wasn’t until a one-on-one encounter with Tupac Shakur’s mother, the late Afeni, that he realized the “Changes” artist was actually gone.

If you didn’t know, it has often been believed that Tupac Shakur is (secretly) still alive and hidden off the grid somewhere. Not only by the entertainment field but the people of the public as well.
When mentioning an interaction with the legend’s mother, Afeni, YG recalled speaking on the impact that Shakur had on the newer generation of hip-hop artists, which led to subsequent praise and a life-changing moment from grieving parent Afeni.
During a recent podcast segment, YG said,
“I said some sh*t and his mama… she came up to me and was like crying and sh*t. She was like, ‘I love what you said about my son.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fasho!’ And then she just looking at me and she crying. She like, ‘They really killed my baby, they really killed my baby!”

He continued, recounting the conversation:
“I’m like, ‘Gahhh d*mn! Bro, that sh*t f*cked me up ’cause like… I thought ‘Pac was alive! [laughs] I thought ‘Pac was alive, bro. My whole life, bro, I thought ‘Pac was alive. But that day! That day… I’m like, ‘Nah, bro! He gone, dawg! His mama was crying in my face! Nah, he gone!’ Bro, that sh*t f*cked me up.”

Unfortunately, Afeni (born Alicia Faye Williams) died after undergoing cardiac arrest in 2016. In 1996, her son, Shakur, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ultimately, the then-24-year-old was pronounced dead less than a week after the shooting on September 13th.
Just last month, it was reported that Las Vegas Metro Police searched a home in connection to the “Juice” actor’s murder. Allegedly, the residence belonged to Crips gang member Duane “Keefy D” Davis, who claimed to have been in the vehicle where the fatal shots came from.
Although the suspected killer, the late Orlando Davis, has been at the top of every headline regarding Shakur’s passing, new developments continue to arise.
May justice prevail.
