Brittish Williams Appeals 4-Year Prison Sentence, Believes She Received Harsh Sentence Because She’s A Celebrity
Brittish Williams is not going down without a fight.
“Basketball Wives” star Brittish Williams and her attorney Beau Brindley have officially appealed the four-year sentence handed down to the reality personality last month (Oct. 2023), according to RadarOnline. As previously reported, Brittish Williams received the judgment after pleading guilty to 15 felony fraud charges, including bank fraud, wire fraud, misuse of a Social Security number, and swindling the government out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.” In addition, the entrepreneur was ordered to pay $564,069 in restitution plus five years of supervision upon release.

Even though Brittish Williams has acknowledged her wrongdoings and expressed regret, she and her lawyer believe her sentence was unfair and harsh because of her celebrity status. Prior to filing the appeal Brittish’s legal representative made it clear that he did not agree with how his client was treated. He stated,
“Brittish Williams was punished today, not for fraud, but for her celebrity. The Court chose to treat her more harshly due to her status as a public figure rather than treating similarly situated defendants equally.”
Brindley also added,
“Ms. Williams success is not a crime subject to enhanced penalty. And we will challenge this sentence through every legal means available,”

We previously reported that William’s ex-attorney, Jason Korner, publicly expressed his belief that Brittish’s refusal to listen to his council and her “attitude” is more than likely what weighed the judge’s sentencing decision. A complete contract to what her current defense team has been stating since the ruling.

Brittish has not made any statements regarding the appeal as of yet.
