Halle Berry’s Sci-Fi Netflix Film ‘The Mothership’ Will Reportedly Not Be Released Due To Production Delays & Reshoot Complications
A sci-fi thriller starring Halle Berry will reportedly not see the light of day.
Reports state that the Netflix-produced film titled “The Mothership” was shelved by the streaming giant as a result of severe production delays as well as issues regarding reshoots.

The film was reportedly meant to be released last year but was stalled like many others because of the Hollywood strikes. Upon getting a new release date for 2024, however, producers reportedly realized the project needed to undergo “significant reshoots,” which presented a unique set of problems as the cast has young stars that have certainly grown in the last 2 years since the production originally wrapped.

Reportedly, production delays, along with the extensive costs of reshooting, ultimately put the nail in the coffin regarding the movie’s release. A synopsis of the film, starring Halle Berry, “Power” star Omari Hardwick, Molly Parker, Sydney Lemmon, John Ortiz, and Paul Guilfoyle described the project as:
“A sci-fi adventure that follows Sara Morse (Halle Berry) one year since her husband mysteriously vanished from their rural farm. When she discovers a strange, extraterrestrial object underneath their home, Sara and her kids embark on a race to find their husband, father and most importantly – the truth.”
While it doesn’t appear that Berry has reacted to news of the project’s cancellation, her fans didn’t hesitate to express their disappointment via social media. Many commenters tagged Netflix in the angry messages, with some begging for the release while others shared their thoughts that benching the movie was a mistake.

It has not been reported that Netflix has released a statement regarding the situation at this time.
