Nicki Minaj Says Megan Thee Stallion Wanted A ‘Rihanna Moment’ w/ Tory Lanez Shooting Incident + Denies Rumors That Her Internet Rant About Megan Stemmed From Drug Use: ‘I Could Do A Test Every Single Day’
Nicki Minaj is adamant that her choice words for Megan Thee Stallion came from the heart… literally.
Celebrated lyricist Nicki Minaj recently joined an X space (formerly Twitter) with rapper/podcaster Joe Budden and sparked controversy for the umpteenth time.
As previously reported, drama ensued after fellow rhymer Megan Thee Stallion released her latest track titled “HISS” on Jan. 26. In the viral song, she (seemingly) takes shots at Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty.
Megan Thee Stallion raps,
“These h*es don’t be mad at Megan, these h*es mad at Megan’s Law / I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t me to start / B*tch, you a p*ssy, never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak a** won’t address me / B*tches swear they G, but the G must stand for ‘Goofy.'”
It’s been known for quite some time that the “Hot Girl Summer” collaborators fell out not too long after the success of the 2019 hit. While it has yet to be confirmed (exactly) why, Minaj accused Stallion of encouraging her to get an abortion so she could drink alcohol. However, there’s also speculation that Stallion’s closeness with Cardi B ignited a feud between the former friends.
Many believe that Stallion’s ‘Megan’s Law’ line in “HISS” was directed toward Minaj’s partner, Petty, who was given three years of probation for failing to register as a sex offender in 2022. If you didn’t know, he previously served a four-year-plus sentence for the attempted rape of a woman named Jennifer Hough in 1994. Megan’s Law is a statute that requires sex offenders’ information to be available to the public.
Minaj has since responded to Stallion’s alleged diss with one of her own called “Big Foot,” where she claims the 28-year-old “lied on” her deceased mother and twisted her story in regards to her shooter, Tory Lanez, and ex-best friend, Kelsey Harris, among other things.
In 2022, Canadian artist Lanez was convicted of three felonies for shooting Stallion in the foot back in 2020. Minaj’s diss followed a series of posts from her on X that cited most of what she raps in “Big Foot.”
During her online conversation with Budden, she said that she felt that the Texas native wanted a “Rihanna moment,” indicating that she wasn’t too sold on Stallion’s recount of the Lanez situation.
Referencing the years-long hoopla that followed Rihanna and Chris Brown’s 2009 domestic violence incident, she told the audience:
“To be honest–it’s so obvious–she wanted a Rihanna moment so bad.”
The 41-year-old added,
“Here’s the thing… Rihanna is just known for, you know, being herself. You see what you get, you get what you see type of, you know, vibe… right? I’m not talking about anything personal; I’m not talking about anything anyone spoke to me about. I’m saying… that’s what we know Rih as. So, Rihanna never would milk something like that. Like, you could tell she couldn’t wait to get that part of her life [over]. You could tell she couldn’t wait to just try to move on with her life. You understand? And then people even dragged her for not dragging it out, not milking it.”
Minaj went on to allude that Stallion only wanted attention and “sympathy” when bringing her matter with Lanez to the forefront. She expressed:
“You know why? Because Rihanna knows that she was a superstar with or without controversy. She’s beautiful with or without controversy. She’s loved with or without controversy. I’m sorry–sympathy! Sympathy! Sympathy! But when you need constant fucking sympathy and then you get on social media and tell somebody, ain’t nobody gon’ respond to me, then when people respond to you, you go mute and then try to stop my song from coming out. If Nicki Minaj had done any of those things, oh, y’all would have a lot to say! But I understand heavy is the head that wears the crown–I am the queen! Okay?”

Later in the discussion, the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” phenomenon addressed the suspicion that her rant toward Stallion was cocaine-induced.
Minaj furthered,
“Cocaine stays in your hair, I’m told. My hair, my hair–right now–my real hair gets almost to my a**hole.”
She proceeded:
“I have never in my life done cocaine. I swear to Jesus Christ and the saints, right? I’ve never in my life done cocaine… ever! I put that on my son’s life.”
Minaj concluded,
“By the way, I did a test. I could do a test every single day. But let’s get three other people who have accused me of that and let’s all take the test for coke… [on] the same day. Let’s do it! But, here’s the thing, it doesn’t matter. I’m that b*tch, so if I did coke, I would say, ‘Yeah! I do coke! Who the f*ck gon’ check me?’ Right? Because I don’t care! What do y’all don’t be getting?”
Ultimately, she suggested that there were people behind the scenes who were driving the hearsay to paint a “crazy” narrative about her recent behavior.
However, this isn’t the first time Minaj has spoken on the substance abuse allegations. Just a few days ago, she wrote on X,
“Whenever you see the words ‘coke rant’ you know they mad. If y’all hear how loud I’m laughing. I’ve never done coke in my life. But if I did, I’d do it proudly.”
