LSU Player Flau’jae Johnson Says WNBA Rookie Caitlin Clark Being Invited To SNL, Despite Losing National Championship, Is ‘Good For The Game’
Flau’jae Johnson is thinking about the bigger picture!
As previously reported, Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks emerged victorious against Iowa Hawkeyes in this year’s highly-anticipated NCAA women’s basketball championship. However, despite their win, many felt the press paid more attention to Caitlin Clark and her former college team, not giving the University of South Carolina players the credit they deserved for remaining undefeated throughout their entire season. The criticism only increased when Caitlin Clark, 22, made a surprise appearance on SNL last month.
During a newly aired interview with Baller Alert, LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson, 20, addressed the attention Caitlin Clark has received over her USC opponents. When asked how she feels about Clark’s SNL debut and the Hawkeyes being celebrated by the media “even though they lost,” Flau’jae Johnson said,
“I think it’s good for the game. Caitlin Clark, say what you want, she’s a star.”
Johnson continued, praising Clark for her skills.
“She can shoot that thing, and she got the green light, and I think, America kind of has gravitated to her and it’s only just pulling the women up more and more and more, so I love it.”

Clark was drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever during the 2024 WNBA draft. Finishing her uplifting remarks about Clark, Johnson added,
“So Caitlin, she just putting on, and it’s just beautiful to see for me ’cause I’m right in the middle of it. I got to share the court with her two times, and she’s just a good player. I love it”
