‘The Bachelorette’ Star Rachel Lindsay Says Estranged Husband Bryan Abasolo Still Lives In Her Home, Where She Pays ’90 Percent Of All Expenses’

The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay’s divorce drama with her future ex-husband Bryan Abasolo continues. The estranged couple made headlines after the news of their divorce hit the internet earlier this year. Now, they are battling it out in court as they try to settle the terms of their split. 

The TV personality and podcaster met Bryan Abasolo on the ABC dating reality series, The Bachelorette in 2017. The couple married in August 2019. In his divorce petition, Bryan Abasolo claims they ended their relationship on Dec. 31, 2023. Fans of the show came to Rachel Lindsay’s aid when it was revealed that her chiropractor husband is seeking spousal support and wants his legal fees covered by the Higher Learning host. The document cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.

In paperwork filed on May 10, Rachel Lindsay’s lawyers state, 

“Rachel has expressed her desire to resolve this matter quietly, without court intervention, by way of a global settlement, which is forthcoming.”

Since finding love on the hit ABC show Lindsay, who was the first Black ‘Bachelorette‘ has a net worth upwards to the tune of $5 million. 

Lindsay’s lawyers go on to say, 

“In the meantime, Bryan continues to reside in Rachel’s home, for which Rachel pays 90 percent of all expenses.”

With a July 10 hearing approaching Lindsay has asked the court to seal her financials from the public eye. She claims that filing them could “potentially cause irreparable harm.” The legal documents also show that Lindsay would like the court to seal redacted portions of her estranged husband’s request for spousal support and attorney’s fees that he filed on May 1. 

After four years of marriage, Abasolo wants what he feels he is owed. Abasolo requested emergency spousal support from Lindsay and asked her to cover at least $75,000 in legal fees. He also alleges that Lindsay used their marital funds to pay her legal fees but refused to let him access the money.

Although the couple tries their best to avoid each other while still living together, Abasolo, who works as a chiropractor, is ready to move out ASAP. 

In the docs, he says:

“I want to move out of our family residence as soon as possible, but maintaining our standard of living is not financially feasible at this time…I placed my career as a chiropractor on hold to move twice for Rachel’s career. These moves were detrimental to my chiropractic business, while Rachel’s income and success as a media personality skyrocketed.”

While doing her best to let the couple’s divorce play out privately, Lindsay has addressed her strained marriage on her Higher Learning podcast. 

“You just never know how great your circle is until you see all the people that reach out and love you. Obviously, It’s a difficult time, if you’ve read the headlines, you’re probably wondering why I would even work. But to be honest with you I need to distract myself from myself and the best way to do that is to do something that I love and I love ‘Higher Learning.’”
