Raven-Symoné & Wife Miranda Maday Weigh In On Diddy’s Apology Video: ‘He’s Distraught, But Not For His Behavior’
Actress Raven-Symoné and her wife Miranda Maday are the latest to share their thoughts on Diddy’s controversial apology video. The couple sat down for a special episode of their podcast, Tea Time with Raven and Miranda, to weigh in on Diddy’s apology following the release of hotel surveillance footage showing the hip-hop mogul assaulting singer Cassie.
They didn’t hold back as Raven-Symoné expressed her belief that Diddy was “sincerely apologetic,” following Miranda Maday’s statement:
“It felt like the most insincere video.”
Raven-Symoné, in disagreement, replied,
“Actually, I was reading his body language. I think he’s distraught because he knows that his money is about to deplete.”
Miranda Maday pushed back and said,
“He’s distraught for sure, but not for his behavior towards hurting another. I don’t think he’s apologizing and apologetic for what has happened to Cassie or any of the people he’s hurt.”
Raven then clarified,
“I think he’s sorry he got caught!”
She elaborated,
“He looked at the camera. He engaged. He was looking into himself. I do feel like he’s sincerely apologetic. What for exactly? We hope it’s to Cassie.”
A few moments later, Miranda Maday made Raven aware that the statute of limitations bars Los Angeles County law enforcement from charging Diddy in the matter, as the incident happened in 2016.
Raven said in response,
“That’s disrespectful. That’s something I want to bring to the government. Trauma is forever.”
The commentary follows the release of a shocking surveillance video captured in 2016, showing Diddy punching, kicking, and throwing objects at his then-girlfriend Cassie, cited in a now-settled lawsuit containing claims of rape and physical abuse.

Cassie and Diddy
On May 19th, Diddy took to social media to issue an apology, stating,
“My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then, when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”
Diddy then claimed he sought professional help following the incident.

Media outlets have also reported that insiders claim neither Diddy nor Cassie are allowed to mention each other’s names in public as part of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) tied to their settlement.
