After the video began making its rounds, many people started to question why the entertainer never used her platform on Disney to set the record straight. One user commented:

The whole time ‘I’m raven simone and you’re watching Disney channel’ you could have said it right cause how they gon make you say your own name wrong?”

While another added:

 “Well whose fault is that.”

Symonéwho has been acting since childhood, appearing on hit series such as “The Cosby Show” and “Full House,” had mega success with the Disney network. The entertainer starred in a namesake series on the channel titled “That’s So Raven,” as well as in several DC movies and music videos.

Symoné also participated in the Disney tradition of stating her stage name and drawing the iconic Mickey logo during commercials. However, the TV star shared that once she was told to keep the pronunciation simple, it kind of just stuck with her. In a follow-up TikTok, she stated:

“No I didn’t [correct people] because at a very young age I was told to tell everybody my name was Raven Symoné (See-mon) and it just never left my body…so yes I don’t trip over it [and] I don’t correct people”
