Former Dave Matthews Band Member Boyd Tinsley Arrested For DUI After Car Crash
Boyd Tinsley, known as a founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, has been arrested for a DUI.
The famed violinist was taken into custody in Rio, Virginia, after being involved in a two-car crash on Monday, June 24.
He was handcuffed about 20 minutes after officers responded to the accident as police believed he had been drunk driving. In footage of the aftermath, Boyd Tinsley is seen with handcuffs on with a couple of officers nearby.
Bystanders claimed that the musician, who was driving an Escalade, crashed into a Corvette. Both Boyd Tinsley and the other pulled over to see how bad the damage was. And when they did, the other driver noticed that something seemed to be going on with Boyd, so they called the police.
He was officially booked around 9:30 PM and posted bond roughly an hour later.
Earlier this year, the Dave Matthews Band revealed that Boyd, a founding member of the group, was no longer a part as he faced a sexual harassment lawsuit from former Crystal Garden star James Frost-Winn. The claims date back to 2018. Boyd initially denied the claims before settling with James Frost-Winn in 2019. However, Boyd was sued once again in February after his social media activity allegedly breached the agreement.
Story is developing.
