‘Drake Curse’ Continues, Rapper Loses $1 Million After Betting On The NBA’s Dallas Mavericks & The NHL’s Edmonton Oilers
Looks like Drake’s alleged gambling curse continues to haunt him another day.
Reports state that the rap star suffered $1 million in losses this month, after making back-to-back losing bets on the NBA and NHL championships.

Drake, real name Aubrey Graham, 37, reportedly took his latest defeat on Monday (June 24th), after the Canada-based Edmonton Oilers lost the Stanley Cup to the Florida Panthers. It’s noted that he put up $500,000. However, if the hockey team was successful, the “Certified Lover Boy” hitmaker would’ve walked away with a $1.025 million reward.
Likewise, Drake unfortunately placed his faith (with another $500,000 bet) in the Dallas Maverick basketball team, who he hoped would come out victorious in their NBA championship series against the Boston Celtics. In another disappointing feat for Drake, however, the Texas team was crushed 4-1. Had they been successful, the Toronto native would’ve been celebrating a $1.3 million payout.

The back-to-back Ls for Drizzy may come as no surprise to those who’ve followed his history with sports betting over the years. Though he’s had some wins, internet users have been joking that Drake’s gambling efforts are cursed after he backed boxing world champion Anthony Joshua who shockingly lost to underdog Andy Ruiz in 2019.

Later that month, Drake attempted to dispel curse speculations while celebrating the Toronto Raptor’s win against the defending NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, stating in a video:
“They said it was a curse now their cursing each other out.”
