Snoop Dogg Clarifies Chain Worn During Olympics Represents A Goat, Not Baphomet

Snoop Dogg has addressed recent social media speculation about his necklace, clarifying that the pendant is a goat, not a Satanic symbol.

During the Paris Olympics, Snoop Dogg was photographed wearing a large chain with a goat pendant while posing for a Team USA photo.

The necklace quickly drew criticism from some social media users who interpreted the pendant as representing Baphomet, a symbol often depicted as a goat-humanoid figure and associated with Satanic and occult traditions.

On July 27, 2024, the popular X account @creepydotorg tweeted,

“Snoop Dogg wearing a necklace with Baphomet at the Olympics.”

The post fueled a frenzy among social media users over the symbolism displayed at this year’s Summer Olympics. In response to the controversy, Snoop Dogg took to Instagram on July 30 to set the record straight.

In a video, he explained,

“I don’t know what y’all thought this was, but this is the GOAT.”

He clarified that the pendant stands for “Greatest Of All Time,” a term used in pop culture to praise exceptional talent.

Snoop Dogg further stated:

“I got this made for myself because somebody called me the GOAT … That other s*** y’all talking about, miss me with that bull****.”

Snoop Dogg’s clarification comes amid other controversies surrounding the Olympics, including backlash over the inclusion of drag queens posing in a way that many viewed as a depiction of The Last Supper.

Despite the criticism, Snoop Dogg fans have reason to be excited as the “GOAT” has officially signed on to appear as a judge on Season 26 of The Voice. The iconic rapper will join Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, and Michael Bublé as judges.
