EXCLUSIVE: Cardi B Clears Up Rumor About Offset Not Being Supportive During Their Marriage

Update (Aug. 3, 2024): the Jasmine Brand has an exclusive update regarding Cardi B’s split from Offset and the media’s reporting surrounding it. Cardi B stopped by The Jasmine Brand to speak out after filing for divorce. The rapper clarified that a recent report from “People” accusing #Offset of being unsupportive during their marriage was untrue.

Update (Aug. 2, 2024): More details are coming out about Cardi B’s divorce filing from Offset. 

Court docs reveal that Cardi B, who revealed just yesterday (Thursday, Aug. 1) that she’s pregnant, is asking for child support as she requests primary custody of their future child, as well as their son Wave and daughter Kulture. 

She checked irreconcilable differences as the reason for her filing and suggested there’s no hope in them getting back together.

As for the property they brought in during their six years of marriage, Cardi B is asking for that to be divided between them.

Original Story (Aug. 1, 2024): Offset might have denied the latest round of cheating rumors, but Cardi B still wants a divorce.

Insiders told Page Six that speculation that Offset was seen out with his former girlfriend Pretty Redz was a breaking point for the “Bodak Yellow” rapper and filed papers on Wednesday, July 31.

The source added,

“They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else. This is something she wants to do.”

They noted that Offset is blinded by Cardi’s latest filing, adding,

“they both have been trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now. It’s not something that happened overnight… They’ve both been on the same page. There wasn’t [pushback]. They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger overtime. It’s become unavoidable.”

A source also said Cardi, who married the Migos rapper in 2017, is  “focused on moving on,” adding,

“She has no ill-will towards him. She’s wishing him the best. She’s not going into this next season [of her life] with any beef or any drama. She wants everything to be very peaceful.”

In response to the rumors, Offset took to Instagram Live to set the record straight, clarifying that the woman in question is not his romantic partner:

“Shawty ain’t my shawty.”

He later added in a blog’s comment section,

“People really need to do the research… I’m at a public place gambling at a casino with a married 8 month pregnant woman. Wtf I look like being outside publicly cheating SMD!!!”

Meanwhile, Pretty Redz also denied speculation that she and Offset were caught being unfaithful, noting that she’s currently pregnant.

“SMH that man wasn’t with me. I was already there with my husband’s sister & brother and I’m 7 months pregnant… y’all really have to stop with this type of behavior.”

She reiterated on her Instagram Story,

“It’s completely crazy that I even have to do this! PLEASE! If not for me… PLEASE RESPECT MY LATE HUSBAND! I AM JUST BEGINNING TO GRIEVE!!! HAVING A NIGHT OUT WITH MY FAMILY IS DEFINITELY NOT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CLICK BAIT!! I AM CARRYING THE LAST GIFT MY HUSBAND WILL GIVE THIS EARTH! ALL I WANT IT PEACE! IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A STORY … THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE HERE! PLEASE RESPECT ALL FAMILIES INVOLVED YALL MAKE UP THINGS NOT CARING ABOUT THE IMPACT! Please STOP.”

Cardi and Offset have notably been on and off again since they tied the knot. In 2020, she dropped divorce proceedings against him, and declared last year that she was single. Still, the two appeared to reconcile.
