Movie star Halle Berry has taken legal action against her ex-husband.

Reports state that the actress filed a complaint against her former spouse Oliver Martinez, due to his alleged attempts to sabotage the relationship between her new man Van Hunt and their shared son.

Halle Berry, 57, reportedly wrote in the court documents that there are multiple things that “concern [her] greatly” about Oliver Martinez’s cooperation in terms of their co-parenting arrangement. The “Catwoman” star married the 58-year-old back 2013, and officially split from the French actor in 2016. As part of the separation, the couple agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their now 10-year-old son Maceo.

However, Halle Berry says Oliver Martinez has recently been displaying “problematic” behaviors when it comes to making decisions about their child, and is seeking the court’s involvement. She wrote in one part of the complaint:

“The first concern is Olivier’s continued unilateral decision-making with respect to Maceo’s education and extracurricular activities, without my prior knowledge and consent, even though Olivier and I share joint legal custody of Maceo,”

She continued:

“The second concern is that Olivier consistently places Maceo in the middle of Olivier’s anger toward me and in the middle of our conflict.”

Berry went on to state that Martinez has also refused to accept her relationship with singer/songwriter Van Hunt, 54, who she’s been dating since 2020. Accusing Martinez of attempting to block Maceo from attending family therapy with her new man, who Berry says “plays an important role” in her children’s lives, (Berry also shares 16-year-old daughter Nahla with ex Gabriel Aubry) she added in the complaint:

“Olivier’s lack of acceptance of Van has resulted in Olivier refusing to permit Maceo to work in a family therapy setting with me and Van as a means to continue to create a healthy environment for our son within the structure of a blended family,”

She further explained:

“Olivier has usurped the entire therapeutic process by refusing to engage and depriving the coparenting therapist of what she needs to move the process forward…Rather than support, [Berry] is met with resistance and conflict,”

It has not been reported that Martinez has responded to the complaint publicly or in the court at this time.
