Lauryn Hill Admits Fugees Reunion Tour Was Canceled In U.S. Due To Low Ticket Sales, Show Will Go On Overseas

Update (Aug. 8, 2024): Lauryn Hill is shedding light on why she and the Fugees abruptly canceled the U.S. leg of their tour.

She wrote in a statement shared on her Instagram Story that,

“The shows in the UK and Europe ARE MOVING FORWARD as planned.”

She added that she was injured last year and forced to reschedule a series of shows. She blamed the media for

“sensationalism and clickbait headlines” that “have seemingly created a narrative that has affected ticket sales for the North American portion of the show.”

She pointed out that the U.K. and Europe have yet to see her tour, and that she hasn’t performed with the Fugees there in over 25 years.

Lauryn Hill went on to thank fans for their support and express her passion for performing. See her full statement below.

Original Story (Aug. 7, 2024): Lauryn Hill and the Fugees will no longer be hitting the road together. Their tour, which was set to kick off Friday (Aug. 9) in Tampa, has been canceled. Ticketmaster has listed each tour stop as “Cancelled” and will give refunds to those who purchased tickets.

The reason for the cancellation has not been provided, and representatives for Lauryn Hill and the tour promoter, Live Nation, have not commented at this time. Other stops included Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Hollywood. The U.S. leg of the tour was set to end in New Jersey on Sept. 21, before the group headed to Europe in October. The final show was set for Hamburg in Germany on Nov. 1. However, it looks like that’s not happening as of now.

Fugees fans, were you looking forward to the tour? Comment and let us know!
