Julio Foolio Murder Suspects Plead Not Guilty; Police Continue Search For Fifth Suspect

Three suspects in the murder of rapper Julio Foolio have reportedly pleaded not guilty.

On Aug. 28, it was reported that three of the five individuals charged in connection with Julio Foolio’s killing have entered not guilty pleas. According to documents, Isaiah Chance and Alicia Andrews filed their pleas on Aug. 23. Sean Gathright, another suspect, is also reported to have pleaded not guilty, though this has yet to be confirmed.

Isaiah Chance and Alicia Andrews are facing four counts of premeditated first-degree murder. Sean Gathright is charged with two counts of premeditated first-degree murder, along with attempted premeditated first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. The other two suspects are Rashad Murphy, who has been arrested in Jacksonville, and Davion Murphy, who remains wanted by authorities.

Julio Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones, was tragically shot and killed on June 23 while celebrating his 26th birthday outside a Holiday Inn in Tampa, Florida. The shooting, which was part of an ongoing gang conflict, also resulted in injuries to three other individuals. The suspects allegedly traveled from Jacksonville to Tampa, where Isaiah Chance and Alicia Andrews are said to have monitored Julio Foolio, while Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy carried out the shooting.

Police have also connected Sean Gathright to previous criminal activities. When arrested on July 27, authorities discovered a Glock 9MM pistol, a rifle, and nine spent rifle casings in his vehicle. These casings were reportedly linked to two prior shootings.

Police are still searching for Davion Murphy, and the investigation into Julio Foolio’s murder continues.
