Rihanna Responds To Critics Over Voting Comments: ‘Shut Up, Karen’
Rihanna is not holding back in response to negative comments under her recent Instagram post about voting.
In a lighthearted video clip of herself in the car looking through the window, Rihanna shared, “POV: Me trying to sneak into the polls with my son’s passport,” adding, “Vote, ‘cause I can’t,” which humorously highlighted her situation as a non-U.S. citizen while urging fans to vote.

The post also included a nod to the style of former President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris, as she wrote, “#tansuitseason.”
However, not everyone appreciated her humor. One commenter accused her of promoting illegal voting, stating,
“Illegal voting is a crime. Maybe she should be arrested for trying.”
Rihanna swiftly replied,
“shut up Karen.”

Another commenter urged her to obtain U.S. citizenship, saying,
“I need you to get that citizenship. You have too many young women looking up to you, come on my sister do BETTER.”
Rihanna fired back with,
“stfu and VOTE then! nobody looking up to my status nutty.”
A third critic claimed,
“Ironically enough she can vote if she would have set up her paper for voting as a migrant if she doesn’t have a U.S. citizenship.”
Rihanna defended herself, responding,
“I LOVE my Bajan passport! I came here to work and pay taxes! You’re welcome.”
Looks like the old Rihanna is back and standing on business. Share your thoughts below!
