Ice-I Says Having Hip-Hop Beef Is ‘Just Not Smart’ In Today’s Social Media Age

Hip-hop veteran Ice-T issued a warning against rappers beefing in today’s society.

The rapper-turned-actor recently sat for a discussion on the Boss Talk 101 Podcast, where he explained why he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to beef nowadays, stating:

“The disses that’s going on, like, I can outrap you is one thing. But then when you take it to the next level like ‘When I see you it’s a problem…The problem with beef is that it can escalate away from you.”

He continued:

“Say I have beef with Treach and I’m talking s**t about Treach. I could run into one of his fans on the street who wants to get active…Having beef is just not smart if you can avoid it. ”

Ice-T furthered that back in his day when he used to competitively beef with colleagues such as LL Cool J, artists didn’t have to worry about the blow-up of social media, which he insists “amplifies” everything and:

“forces reaction that really could be squashed so much simpler.”

The “Mind Over Matter” rapper went on to suggest that if hip-hop stars do find themselves in beef, they should opt to contact each other in person instead of taking their grievances to the internet.

Do y’all agree with Ice-T?
