Connecticut Girls’ Basketball Coach Arrested For Allegedly Hitting Victim w/ Car After Argument Over Game

A girls’ youth basketball coach in Connecticut has been arrested after allegedly driving into someone with his car. The incident occurred after a verbal argument at Horace Porter School, where Bryan Baez-Rivera, 29, had coached a game on Saturday, Jan. 11, according to Connecticut State Police.

Police were called to the scene at around 11:23 a.m. They spoke with the victim, who reported being involved in a dispute with Baez-Rivera after the game.

The victim alleged that, as they approached Baez-Rivera’s car in the parking lot, the coach intentionally struck them with the vehicle. The impact reportedly caused the victim to roll over the hood and roof before falling to the ground.

Emergency responders noted that the victim had visible injuries, though they were non-life-threatening. The individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Baez-Rivera was arrested and later released on a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Jan. 23. (VIA: @wtnh8)
