Master P is opening up about the tragic events that shook his hometown of New Orleans on New Year’s Day.

During an appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” the rapper was asked how the city responded after a man drove a truck into crowds on Bourbon Street, k*lling 14 people.

Master P shared that it was a painful experience for the city but emphasized their resilience:

“We were hurt. We’ve never experienced anything like that. We’ve got to stand up and show the world we’re not scared and we’re going to bounce back. We’re resilient.”

He also responded to critics who felt the city didn’t shut down long enough after the tragedy, saying,

“You’ll always have opinions, but we have to keep going. You have to let God keep you moving. We’re going to keep moving no matter what.”

Master P continued by saying he would honor the 14 lives lost with a plaque, which will be displayed during his upcoming NOLA Walk of Fame.
