Selena Gomez Responds To U.S. Senate Candidate Sam Parker, Who Says She Should Be Deported After Speaking Out Against Trump’s Mass Deportations
Selena Gomez is firing back at republican politician and U.S. Senate candidate Sam Parker, who called for her deportation after she shared an emotional video reacting to President Trump’s mass deportations.
In the now-deleted video, Gomez said,
“All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I’ll try everything, I promise.”

In response, Parker posted on X, “Deport Selena Gomez,” prompting Gomez to hit back on Instagram Stories:
“Oh, Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”
Immigration is a deeply personal issue for Gomez, who shared her family’s experience in a 2019 op-ed for TIME, recounting how her aunt crossed the border from Mexico in the 1970s, which marked the beginning of her family’s settlement in the U.S.
