Tennessee Grad Student Settles $250K Lawsuit After Facing Expulsion For Posting ‘WAP’ & ‘Partition’ Lyrics On Social Media
Kimberly Diei, a pharmacy student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, settled a $250K lawsuit after nearly being expelled. The issue started when she posted Beyoncé and Cardi B lyrics on her personal social media.

Using the pseudonym “KimmyKasi,” she shared lyrics from WAP and Partition. In 2019, an anonymous complaint led the university to investigate her.
—————————————
Officials claimed her posts were “crude” and “vulgar.” They said she violated professionalism codes, even though her account had no link to the school.

In 2020, the university’s conduct committee voted to expel her. She appealed and kept her spot. Later, she sued the school for violating her rights. The case was dismissed in 2022 after she earned her degree.

In 2024, she and her lawyer, Greg Greubel, appealed. She settled in January 2025. Diei received $180,000. Her legal team got $70,000.
