On this week’s episode of Special Forces, the recruits received video messages from their loved ones, but the retired NFL star, 35, didn’t hear from any family members. Instead, a member of his production company sent him a message.

“My dark side in my life was like I was in a long-term relationship and I had a child outside my relationship,” Newton shared during the episode. “We had just moved into a house and everything was kind of perfect from the outside in, you know?”

He admitted that the situation has strained his bond with his oldest daughter. “And my relationship with my oldest daughter has suffered,” he said. “All she kept asking was, ‘Yo, why?’”

In a confessional, Cam Newton admitted he still feels like he’s “making mistakes.”

“I know I hurt somebody, but I didn’t want what I created to be a secret either,” he shared. “But all the while, too, my relationship with my oldest daughter suffered, and is suffering from that.”

Newton acknowledged the impact of his actions, adding, “Daddy cheated on my mommy. I think it’s important for me to be accountable.”
