Normani Reveals She Was Caught Off Guard When NFL Star DK Metcalf Proposed: ‘He Really Did It Up

Normani had labsolutely no idea” DK Metcalf was going to propose when he popped the question last month in Houston.

On “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” the “Motivation” singer recalled, “As oblivious as oblivious can get, that was me.”

The NFL star had originally planned to propose a year earlier in Turks and Caicos but waited to avoid overshadowing the June 2024 release of Normani’s debut album, “Dopamine.”

Instead, he surprised her at what she thought was a birthday party for his sister.

“I thought I was in on the surprise, but I got surprised,” she laughed. The room was filled with flowers, a violinist, and a pianist.

“He really did it up for me,” she added.

DK Metcalf later confirmed the engagement at an NFL press conference. Introduced by Ciara, Normani revealed,

“My dream has always been four [kids]. I want a big family.”
