Justin Bieber Allegedly Owes Over $8 Million To Former Manager Scooter Braun, Pair Reportedly Split Over Financial Dispute
Justin Bieber’s fallout with former manager Scooter Braun was about money.
It all began after Justin ended his “Justice” tour in 2022. According to TMZ’s new doc, TMZ Investigates: What Happened to Justin Bieber, Bieber had already received a $40 million advance from AEG, the tour’s promoter… but when the tour was canceled early, he was left owing AEG $24 million.
Scooter’s company, #Hybe, stepped in to pay the debt. In return, Justin signed a 10-year note agreeing to repay Hybe. He allegedly made one payment… then stopped. Sources close to Scooter say Bieber’s team claimed he just didn’t have the money.

From there, Justin’s business manager, Lou Taylor, reportedly dug into the books and claimed Scooter had been “grossly overpaid” by $26 million. In response, Hybe did an internal audit and found the opposite… Justin actually owed Scooter $1 million. Scooter reportedly waived that amount, but Justin’s team didn’t trust the results.
To resolve the dispute, Hybe brought in an independent auditor, PricewaterhouseCoopers. After a six-month investigation, PWC found Bieber owed $8.806 million. It’s reported that Justin’s team did not dispute the findings, but also conducted their own audit… and did not share the results.
