Xzibit Reveals Why Chamillionaire Replaced Him In A ‘Pimp My Ride’ Episode, Says He Asked For $1 Million & Execs Told Him That Wasn’t In The Budget
Xzibit is clearing up why he didn’t host a 2007 episode of Pimp My Ride.
In an interview with Metro UK, Xzibit explained that he had just wrapped filming his final episode and decided not to renew his contract:
“It [the show] ended because my contract was up and I didn’t want to renew it. I was on my way out the door at 20th Century Fox after filming the last episode, and it was like, ‘Yo, all good things must come to an end.’ I’m good. I’m very good. I’m shaking hands and I’m like, ‘Okay guys, contract’s up, I don’t want to renew. I’m out.'”
However, before he could head out on a European tour, he says the advertising department contacted him, thanking him for doing one last promo episode tied to Fantastic Four:
“I was like, ‘I’m on my way to Europe. I ain’t filming no f*cking Fantastic Four episode.’”
Show execs tried to persuade him to film the promo by offering travel and a bigger paycheck, but Xzibit had already found out how much the studio was making from the movie tie-in… and asked for $1 million:
“I had just heard the f*cking number. I said, ‘Hey, okay, give me a million dollars. I’ll do it.’ They’re like, ‘Oh, Xzibit. You know that’s not in the budget, we don’t have it.’”

That’s when Chamillionaire stepped in. Xzibit joked,
“Chamillionaire did that episode because apparently any n*gga with braids could do what Xzibit does.”
Still, he says he’s grateful for the experience and might be open to a reboot.
