Marlon Wayans Warns Fans Against ‘Scam’ Open Casting Call For ‘Scary Movie’ Return
If you see a link floating around for an open casting call for Scary Movie 6, please, DON’T CLICK ON IT!
One internet user recently shared on X that they “signed up for a casting call to audition” for the highly anticipated return of the Scary Movie franchise “through an Instagram link.” While it’s unclear whether they were joking or not about falling for the fake audition, it appears that others believed they could show their acting skills to the Wayans family and appear in the project.
Some fans of the beloved parody films have seemingly been sending money to scammers for an audition. Thankfully, the crazy ordeal caught the attention of Marlon Wayans, who took to his IG Story to set the record straight. In his first post, he shared a screenshot of the fake casting call and wrote:
“Dear people, This is a scam!!!”
Marlon followed that up with another post, adding:
“This is NOT REAL!!! Fraud. Nobody charges for auditions.”

While Scary Movie 6 is still in the early stages, it was recently confirmed that Regina Hall and Anna Faris are coming back as Brenda and Cindy, respectively. Other casting announcements have yet to be made, but Michael Tiddes is set to direct.
