A #Texas mother, Gbemisola Akayinode, was arrested on Friday (Oct. 17) and charged with felony m#rder after her 9-year-old daughter d!ed from hyperthermia in a car where she had been left unattended during the mother’s work day.
The unfortunate incident occurred in July. According to authorities, the child was discovered sometime after Akayinode returned from her eight-hour shift at a manufacturing plant in Galena Park.
Court records reveal that Akayinode admitted she left her daughter in the vehicle because she “couldn’t afford childcare” and needed to work. The affidavit states the child’s body temperature was recorded at 108 °F and that this was not the first time the girl had been left in a car alone. Akayinode next court date is scheduled for today (Oct. 20).
