2 Students K!lled in Brown University Shooting; Police Take Person of Interest Into Custody
A person of interest is in custody following a sh00ting at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, according to Providence Police spokesperson Kristy DosReis.
Brown University President Christina H. Paxson said two people were k!lled at the scene and nine others were wounded, adding that the victims were students. Paxson called it “devastating gun violence” and said, “Our hearts go out to those who were injured, to the families and loved ones of the victims, and to everyone who has been impacted by this senseless act of violence.”
Paxson also urged the Brown community to lean on one another, writing, “This is a day for us to hold each other close, to support each other, and to take care of ourselves.” She added, “No parent should ever have to worry that when they say goodbye to their child for the day, they may never see them again.”
Brown lifted its campus lockdown early Sunday morning, though officials said the investigation remained active. We send our consciences to everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy ???
