Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems: Prince Sued for $3.95 Million

“Purple Rain” singer, Prince (real name Prince Rogers Nelson) has been ordered to pay $3.95 million to a Revelations Perfume & Cosmetics for not promoting their 3121 line of products. The lawsuit goes back to 2008, when the company sued Prince for not endorsing the product line that was inspired by his 3121 album, like he previously agreed to. Prince was accused of not doing media interviews (including a sit-down with Oprah Winfrey), not handing out free samples at his concerts, and refusing to do in-store events. The company had to cancel the licensing agreement for the fragrance, due to poor sales. Prince has to pay $3,948,798.58 for the company’s out of pocket expenses.
That’s a lot of money that he has to fork over. Do you think he should have to pay?
