Here For It? Philadelphia Eagles Take Gamble Drafting 21-Year-Old Uar Bernard Who Has Never Played Organized Football
The #PhiladelphiaEagles used the 2026 NFL Draft to take a long-term swing on pure potential, selecting Nigerian defensive tackle Uar Bernard with the 251st overall pick in the seventh round.
Bernard’s selection came as part of the team’s continued investment in international talent through the #NFL’s International Player Pathway program, even though he has never played a down of organized football. At 6-foot-4 and 306 pounds, Bernard is being described as a raw but elite-level athlete whose development will be the focus moving forward. Speaking on the exciting news, Bernard said, “It’s a dream come true for me because I’ve worked hard for this… I appreciate God, I thank God for everything. I thank God for life. I thank God for the opportunities given to me to be drafted by the Eagles.”
Congrats to #UarBernard! #TJBCrew, are you here for this draft pick?
