Ex-Pistons Star Malik Beasley Indicted On Federal Gambling Charges
Former Detroit Pistons guard #MalikBeasley was indicted Monday (June 29) on federal charges connected to a sports-betting scheme, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The 29-year-old is reportedly coordinating a voluntary surrender with the government, though the full details of the charges have not been disclosed. The scheme is said to involve point shaving and prop bets. The indictment caps a turbulent stretch for Beasley, whose career effectively stalled when a federal gambling investigation first surfaced last June — just as he was poised for a significant payday. At the time, he reportedly had a multiyear deal on the table from the #Pistons. His attorneys later claimed he was no longer a subject of the investigation, but the NBA launched its own separate probe, and Beasley ultimately went unsigned throughout the entire 2025-26 season.
