[Update] Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis Says He Will Appeal Tupac Shakur M*rder Verdict As Judge Sets October 13 Sentencing
Duane “Keefe D” Davis is preparing to challenge the verdict that found him guilty of k*lling Tupac Shakur, with sentencing now set for October 13.
A Clark County, Nevada, jury deliberated for about 90 minutes Monday before convicting Davis of one count of m*rder tied to Shakur’s September 7, 1996, shooting in Las Vegas. Judge Carli Kierny ordered Davis held without bail following the verdict.
As court ended, Davis raised his hand and said, “Excuse me.” After Kierny responded, “Yes, sir,” Davis added, “I’d like my stuff back: my computers, all the phones, everything. And I would like to appeal this matter.” Kierny replied, “Of course there will be an appeal, but that happens after sentencing. Then … you can talk about evidence that needs to be returned.”
Prosecutors argued Davis supplied the gun and rode in the white Cadillac when his nephew, Orlando Anderson, allegedly fired the fatal sh*ts. They also used Davis’ own interviews and memoir against him.
After the verdict, members of Shakur’s family hugged prosecutors Marc DiGiacomo and Binu Palal in the courtroom.
Davis has remained jailed since his September 29, 2023, arrest in the case.
