‘Grits & Eggs’ Host Deante’ Kyle Calls Out Fat Joe While Arguing Non-Black People Should Stop Using The N-Word: ‘Why Is The Word The Only Thing Y’all Fight For?’

“Grits & Eggs Podcast” host Deante’ Kyle is weighing in on the ongoing debate surrounding non-Black people using the N-word, specifically mentioning rapper Fat Joe while arguing that being immersed in Black culture doesn’t make someone Black.

Kyle questioned why some people who embrace Black American culture appear unwilling to give up the controversial word. He said,

“Access and immersion in a culture is not an ethnicity… nor does it necessarily reflect an alignment with the struggles of those people historically or presently.”

He then directly referenced Fat Joe, questioning his family’s history in America and its relationship to the Black American experience before asking, “Why is the word the only thing y’all fight for?” Kyle further argued that people who genuinely respect Black Americans should have no issue respecting their boundaries, saying, “If you do not identify as a Black American, then you cannot say [the N-word].”

Kyle also pushed back against the argument that acceptance within certain Black communities gives someone a permanent pass to use the word. He said times have changed, adding, “This ain’t New York in the ’90s no more. This is America in the year 2026,” before arguing that respecting Black people should include respecting their request not to be called the term.
