Battle-of-Destiny’s-Child Singles ::: Kelly Rowland Beats Out Beyonce w/ New Single
As you know, Kelly Rowland dropped her hit single, “Motivation” featuring Lil Wayne last month, and less than two weeks ago, Beyonce dropped her highly anticipated single, “Girls (Who Run the World)” over a week ago. The two, who have been good friends for over a decade basically, grew up together in Destiny’s Child and since their solo careers have supported each others music. Beyonce has always been the lead singer and has had more mainstream success with album deals, endorsements, visibility, etc. Kelly, still successful in her own lane–but not so much. Anywho, to our surprise and at least for the moment, Kelly’s single has out-shined Beyonce’s. According to iTunes top 100, “Motivation” is No. 41, while Beyonce’s “Girls” is sitting at No. 43 after only a week of release.
So, the question is–will Kelly finally gain some of the mainstream success that Beyonce has had thus far? Source
