[Exclusive] ‘Love & Hip-Hop’s’ Mama Jones Responds to Chrissy’s fight, Comparisons to Frankie & Furthering Music Career

Over the weekend, I had an opportunity to interview one of the most popular members of the un-official cast of VH1’s “Love & Hip-Hop”, Mama Jones. Mama Jones is the mother of rapper Jim Jones. Jim Jones is engaged to cast member, Chrissy Lampkin. On the first season, we were introduced to Mama Jones through her challenging relationship with Chrissy. And this season, we’ve learned that she’s made a semi-diss song (called Psychotic B*tch) aiming her frustrations towards Chrissy. Peep a few excerpts from the interview.
On if she’s surprised about being a fan-favorite on the show:
“Not really. Because the way they see me on the show is the way I am period, in person.”
On if she was ever apprehensive about how she would be portrayed:
“No, I really don’t care what anybody says about me, so no.”
On her relationship with the other Cast members:
“I don’t mess with them. I stay to my limit. My limit is my family, Jim, Chrissy, and anybody else within my family. Everybody else is how do you say it, a non-mother-f’ing factor.”
On the Chrissy v. Kimbella fight:
“I don’t get into that. I’m too grown for that. All that is just childish.”
On her relationship with Olivia:
“First of all, me and her were never friends. I just got to know her because of doing this reality show. I just didn’t like what she did, or what she said. She did apologize. So I’m moving on, and I’m good.”
On why she recorded, “Psychotic” and if she’ll make another song:
“When I called Chrissy a b*tch, she said, ‘Well what do you think you are? You’re a psychotic b*tch.’ And that’s what inspired me to make it. When you’re angry or mad, things sound really good. So it just happened like that.
On if she plans to continue to make music:
“This is actually my first song. But, I say no, [I’m not gonna do another song] but you never know how life will go… it’s like a box of chocolate, you never know what you’ll get.”
On her relationship with Chrissy:
“Oh, yes. We always had a good relationship. Just over the last couple years things got a little crazy, but that’s how it is. But I do have love for her. People think I don’t, but I do.
On if she had issues with any of Jones’ past girlfriends:
“I always have issues, except for the one that gave me my beautiful grandson. But we [Chrissy and I] have our little spats, but she knows me. She’s been there since he was younger. And she’s grown, and I’ve gotten to watch her grow. We have similarities and some things that are alike so…”
On being compared to Keyshia Cole’s mom:

“Ummmm, I feel like there’s no comparison.”
