Mary J. Blige Hits X Factor :: But Does Her Voice Flop?
Thursday evening, rockin’ an elegant all-white look, Mary J Blige took to the X-Factor stage and performed, “Need Someone.” And while I’m a huge fan and loved her performance (I think a tear dropped), I seemed to be the only one that was really feelin’ her performance. I loved that she challenged her voice and picked something more moving. But…… she had a couple of spots in the song that she went flat. Songs like that require breath control. But it’s Mary, what can you say?
This showcased Mary’s versatility with music and how she has evolved into a true artist that is not to be put into a box of only “hip hop soul”……No doubt you will always feel her soul when she sings though. It was not a song that we would expect from MJB but she sounded beautiful performing it. The lyrics were special as well. Clearly I am a fan…MJB for LIFE…My Life Part 2!!! LOL
