Eddie Murphy’s Ex-Wife, Nicole Murphy, Scammed Outta $7 Million

From some folks’ perspective, back in August of 2005, Nicole Murphy struck (financial) gold when she ended her marriage of 12 years to actor Eddie Murphy. But now it appears as if her her finances are now in trouble, from a modern day scam artist. A 45-year-old man named Troy Davis Stratos claimed to be involved in the entertainment industry as a movie producer, director, video producer and talent promoter. He was also Nicole’s financial manager.
Reports shared that Stratos advised her to invest most of her divorce money in an account overseas to collect interest but instead Stratos spent the money on himself, putting the money in his personal accounts. He also advised her to sell her home in California and lease her luxury cars to boost the quality of the property.Stratos lived in the house and used the cars for his personal lifestyle. He also informed Murphy to refinance some of her houses for more cash, which he used. Fast forward to the present day, Nicole Murphy, and others, have filed a federal lawsuit. Stratos has been indicted on 14 charges of fraud, money laundering and obstruction of justice. The fraud charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years while the money laundering and obstruction charges carry 10 years maximum sentences.

I’m sorry I do not feel bad for her. Anyone handling my imaginary millions would first and foremost have a Criminal backgroud run on him along with personal references. She should’ve kept track of her bank statements, etc. atleast monthly. Like Oprah said, she should’ve been personally signing ALL of her checks. #Dumb
