It’s Official –> Evelyn’s Assistant Charged With Battery + Nia’s Lawyer Responds

Basketball Wives’ Jennifer Williams was not playin’. Friday afternoon, we learned that she officially charged Evelyn Lozada’s assistant, Nia Crooks, with misdemeanor battery. And if you’re wondering why, which I’m sure you’ve heard it all week, it’ for an altercation that aired on the most recent episode of the reality show.

Meanwhile, Nia has lawyered up, telling TMZ:

“We will vigorously defend Nia against these charges. The women on the show executed contracts expressly accepting the risk that a physical altercation could occur…Given that Jennifer herself has previously instigated fights on the show, to cry foul now is absurd and a desperate attempt for publicity and money. We will fight until Nia is vindicated.”

If convicted, Nia can spend a year in jail. With that said, did Jennifer over-react, by filing charges or was she right in going the legal route?

i just want to say Nia is important to both of them as you can see. Jen is just doing that to Nia to be spiteful because she love Ev and is hurt by all that is going on in this relationship. It looks to me as if Jen dropped everything that was close to Ev or almost everything.

Nia was wrong for slapping her and getting hype with her and even if Jen was wrong she should have not done that. Jen clearly just talked to TAMI TWO seconds before that and said if anything pop off she would sue. So why are you offended or why do you have a lawyer now ???

Personally I think both of them are bull ****ting around. Jen and Ev should just find common ground cause life is to short for the bull they spitting out. When they know all they have is love for each other.

Nia yes you should always stay to your self. Because you never know who can say what.

The fact that anyone could try to justify Nia’s actions blows me away. There is no excuse other than self defense for Nia’s actions and sense she was not under attack, it’s pointless. Maybe this will teach them all that there is a line you don’t cross. Seriously, if Nia wanted those door keys, it seems that she could have obtained them earlier. I wonder how much Ev, Tami and Shaunie will contribute to her legal fees because Jen is the victim here, not the criminal.
