Rodney King Dies At Home, Fiance Says He Had Been Drinking & Smoking Weed

Sad news. CNN has confirmed that Sunday morning, Rodney King was found dead. Reportedly, the 47-year-old was found by his fiance (Cynthia Kelley), at the bottom of a swimming pool. Conflicting reports about his cause of death have also been shared. ABC reports that he was found dead in his home. TMZ reports that his fiance told people that he had been in their home all day drinking and had smoked weed at some point during the day. His fiance went to bed and next recalled seeing him around 5:00 AM, when she was awoken by him screaming in the backyard. Sources say that Cynthia found King naked, banging on the glass. Reportedly, she called out to him,

“What’s wrong, Rodney?”

She went to grab the phone, heard a big splash then went into the backyard and discovered him in the bottom of the pool and called police. Law enforcement responded to a call at 5:25 AM PT. They physically removed King from the pool and attempted CPR. Reportedly, he was pronounced dead at 6:11 AM.
