[Confirmed] D’Angelo Performing At BET Awards, 1st Televised Performance in 12 Years

Guess who BET Awards has added to it’s performance line-up? D’Angelo. Thursday morning, Stephen G. Hill confirmed the news on twitter sharing:
Yes!! D’Angelo will perform on the #BETAwards July 1!! It will be his first televised performance in over 12 years! Boom!

Although D’Angelo has recently returned back on the musical scene touring, as Hill mentioned, this will be his first televised performance in over 10 years. Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials explained:
“Usually, we love to keep surprises…but this year we want EVERYONE watching when D’Angelo takes the stage at the BET Awards! His talents have been away from us for far too long and we’re excited and honored that he’s decided to make his American re-entry at this year’s BET Awards.”
Other performances include Usher, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, G.O.O.D. MUSIC, Pusha T, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Wale and 2 Chainz. Hosted by Samuel L Jackson, Taraji P. Henson, Meagan Good, Kevin Hart and Cedric the Entertainer will grace the Shrine Auditorium stage, as presenters. The show airs Sunday, July 1st at 8:00 p.m.* on BET Networks.
