Natina Reed Was Staying In A Motel, Parents Upset At Georgia Police
Last weekend, we shared the sad news that 32-year-old singer, Natina Reed, had been killed after she was struck by a vehicle on a roadway in Georgia. Reed was a member of the 90s group, Blaque, and was also the mother of Kurupt’s 10-year-old son. The exact details of her death are still somewhat unclear, but what we know is that Natina was struck by a car while standing or walking on a roadway in Atlanta late Friday night. Today, we’ve learned only a few additional details. First, at the time of her untimely death, she was staying at a motel in Norcross, called StudioPlus Atlanta Peachtree Corners. AJC reports that her mother explained:
“She was in transition, about to move into a new home.”
And secondly, while that bit of information doesn’t seem to be important in her cause of death, Natina’s parents are still alarmed that they don’t have more details. Specifically, the family says that they are frustrated with the lack of information surrounding her death. Natina’s mother also explains that the family has had a difficult time obtaining a copy of the accident report from police. And that the report didn’t provide any insight.
“It’s an empty report. It still doesn’t give us answers. We are hurt and distraught about the untimely death of our daughter Natina.”
Police say that the report was made available Thursday – three to five days after the accident, which is standard procedure. Gwinnett police corporal Edwin Ritter told AJC
“We are not dragging our feet. We are doing a thorough investigation.”
Meanwhile, services for the singer will be Saturday at Abundant Life Church in Lithonia. It is open to the public.
