Vanessa Long Changes Her Mind AGAIN :: Continues With Plans For Divorce

Well damn, that was quick! Early Friday morning, Bishop Eddie Long’s wife, Vanessa Long, filed for divorce. Bishop Long, the pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, has experienced controversy within the past year, which may have lead to the divorce announcement. But within a few hours, either the First Lady had a change of heart or was threatened (pure speculation, folks) because she has withdrawn her divorce petition. In the following statement, she explained:

“Upon prayerful reflection, I have reconsidered and plan to withdraw my petition for divorce from my husband, Bishop Eddie L. Long…I love my husband. I believe in him and admire his strength and courage.”

My question is…what do WE think encouraged her to withdraw her divorce petition?

Honestly, this Vanessa-Eddie debacle is more entertaining than reality TV, at this point. Around 8 p.m., Vanessa said, “F*ck being first lady”, dropped the mic and walked off the front row, or pulpit, or wherever first lady’s sit during service. Her attorney’s tell AJC, that she’s proceeding with the divorce “consistent with her original [statement] made this morning.” The marriage was described as “irretrievably broken”, as well as “no hope of reconciliation.” Meanwhile, Bishop Eddie Long released the following statement:

“Vanessa is, and has always been, a loving, dedicated and committed wife and mother…My love for her is deep and unwavering. It remains our sincere desire to continue working together in seeking God’s will in these circumstances.”
