The Onion Calls Quvenzhané The ‘C’ Word + Mindless Behavior Causes Riot

Chicago LOVES them some Mindless Behavior. So much so that fans went NUTS during their recent mall appearance. According to the Sun Times, two people were slightly injured and roughly 20 people arrested Saturday. What happened? A full-blown melee broke out at the Ford City Mall, after their appearance. The mall was evacuated and police closed some nearby streets. The end result was that several people were arrested, two were injured and police and paramedics were called.
Great news for Quvenzhané Wallis! The 9-year-old Oscar nominated actress is set to play ‘Annie’ in Columbia Pictures remake of “Annie.” If you recall, Willow Smith was first casted for the role, but later dropped out because she wanted to focus more on her childhood. The film is being produced by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Jay-Z, James Lassiter, and Tyran Smith, and will be released in 2014. BTW, did you’ll hear about a joke that may have been a bit too inappropriate about Quvenzhane? During the Oscars, The Onion‘s jokingly tweeted:
“Everyone else seems afraid to say it, but that Quvenzhané Wallis is kind of a c*nt, right?”
Yikes! The outlet later deleted the tweet, after folk got pissed about the comment. What are your thoughts about the tweet? Is it totally offensive because of her age or is some of the public being a bit too sensitive?
