Janet Jackson is breaking her silence with a special announcement to her fans. On Monday (May 1st), the singer posted a candid video updating the public on her personal and professional life. She started the message by lightly joking that she’s gained weight since delivering her son

Hey guys, it’s me Jan. Just in case you don’t recognize me ‘cuz I have put on quite a few since I had the baby, but I thank God for him you guys, he’s so healthy.

She also confirmed reports that she and her husband Wissam Al Mana had split saying,

I’m going to keep it real with you guys for a second: yes, I separated from my husband, we are in court and the rest is in God’s hands.

On a happier note, she is going back on tour.

I’m continuing my tour as I promised. I decided to change the name of the tour – State of the World Tour.

The STATE OF THE WORLD tour is set for a 56-city run beginning September 7, in Lafayette at the Cajundome. Jackson will make multiple stops in Texas and California, hit all four corners of the U.S. visiting Seattle, Portland, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Boston, Philly, Memphis, Jacksonville, as well as head north of the border to include Vancouver and Toronto, with her final stop on December 17 in Atlanta at Philips Arena.
