Eve Is The New Host On ‘The Talk’
Eve is officially joining daytime TV. The rapper turned actress can now add talk show host to her resume. She has officially signed on to The Talk as the new host. She previously appeared as guest co-host the week of October 13th. She joins Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, and Sheryl Underwood.She is replacing comedian Aisha Tyler, her announced her departure in June.
Eve is currently based in London with her husband and admits that when she was first approached to host, she thought it would be an ideal position, but had to think about it.
Once I did the first test week and I met all the ladies, I felt the energy — not only from them but everyone I met on the set and it was great. It was one of those exciting moments in life where I thought it would be a good challenge for me. If it feels right, then it must be right.
And to have such a diverse group of women as well — I think that is very important.
Eve (real name Eve Jihan Jeffers-Cooper) is a rapper and actress from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is the inaugural winner of the Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2002, for the song “Let Me Blow Ya Mind”, with American singer Gwen Stefani. As an actress, Eve is known for her roles as Terri Jones in the films Barbershop, Barbershop 2: Back in Business and Barbershop: The Next Cut, as well as Shelley Williams on the UPN television sitcom Eve. She has also achieved success in fashion, with her clothing line, Fetish.
